Lapses in correct usage of the English language that annoy me irrationally:

uprightcitizens:

  • “One in the same”
  • “It doesn’t phase me”
  • “I seen that movie”

Two egg corns and a lazy tongue.  Phased/fazed has been discussed here before.  “One in the same” actually has an ECDB entry for your perusal.  For some reason when I read that, I picture one small circle inside a big circle, while one and the same is a partially-overlapping traditional Venn diagram.

Good finding, Liz!
