This one was very subtle to my eye at first and I think it’s because my brain made the correction automatically. Still. Doesn’t give this author any right to say “litmus TASTE” because that is not a thing. Unless you are someone who licked the litmus paper in chemistry class to see if you were “pH balanced” like Secret brand deodorant.

The Eggcorn forum has a discussion with several examples of “lipness test,” which I think is used by dumb people who want to talk about politics.
Litmus taste actually makes a little bit of sense in that “taste” can actually be a synonym for “test” or “sample.” “Just try a little taste.” ”She tasted the food to get a sense of the flavor.” (While checking out the above-linked forums, I saw their theory that a true eggcorn has to make some sort of sense, in its own bizarre way, so I will be trying to do that with all the postings going forward)
