"My colleague keeps spelling bi-polar "bi-polo"....
An anonymous submission from an online community I frequent.
The google results for “bipolo disorder” and bipolar+bipolo reveal a mix of confused people/SEO to aid the confused people, as well as a handful of folks who have the disorder using the term to lighten the mood a bit.

Client: Yes, I was told you do that here.
Me: I’m sorry, this is a graphics and print shop.
Client: I know that. I’m not an idiot.
Me: I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to -
Client: Look If you can’t lemonade these papers for me then I’ll go somewhere else!
Me: Do you mean… laminate?

Educational Eggcorns: Anchors Away!
languageshellyeah:
I am guilty of this one. We have all heard the term Anchors Away but did you know it is actually ‘Anchors Aweigh’? The same goes for:
Weigh anchor and weighing in.
This is a common mistake and has been sighted in professional publications:
“Starting in April, the 120-passenger Clipper Odyssey will way anchor and leave Singapore for an intriguing 16-day journey to the...

I GIS’d “angry ostrich” to have an image accompaniment but the results were way too scary for the Eggcorn blog. Even if the razor-sharp teeth are a ‘shop, too scary.
Based on Google Regular it seems like a fairly common eggcorn/substitution for...

I’ve honestly never seen this error before. I think the manuscript I’m working on must have been dictated, because there are other “heard” errors like “in sized” instead of “incised.”
Jen does a great job of finding these!
I’m on my phone but I’ll look up froth/frought later.

Two egg corns and a lazy tongue. Phased/fazed has been discussed here before. “One in the same” actually has an ECDB entry for your perusal. For some reason when I read that, I picture one small circle inside a big circle, while one and the same is a partially-overlapping traditional Venn diagram.

Basically just bad spelling/cultural ignorance but I thought it should go here. @LoneEel works as a manuscript reader so she sees a lot of nonsense.

In 2004, Adrián joined The Mars Volta recording the studio album Frances the Mute and continues to work with the band (as full flesh member) on subsequent albums (Live Scabdates 2005, Amputechture 2006) and all of The Mars Volta side projects (movie scores, DVD‘s etc).
“Full flesh member” sounds terrible, although not unlike a Mars Volta lyric.

This one was very subtle to my eye at first and I think it’s because my brain made the correction automatically. Still. Doesn’t give this author any right to say “litmus TASTE” because that is not a thing. Unless you are someone who licked the litmus paper in chemistry class to see if you were “pH balanced” like Secret brand deodorant.

“Crisis diverted” to me means you’ve just sent the problem down the river to someone else or yourself on some later date.
Also “crisis diverted” sounds like something Winston Rothschild from The Red Green Show would say. “Crisis diverted, eh?”

Let’s keep an eye/ear out for this one, Egg Corn Fans. It just popped into my head, I thought it would be funny.
